Description
About the Online Audio:
“This book comes with downloadable online audio files of each piece. Even the best music readers benefit from hearing what they are reading. Although some of these selections are found on my classical CD, Serenade, most are not. In an effort to keep the cost of this book to minimum for the consumer, the audio provided is a digital rendering from the music notation software voiced using samples of a Steinway grand piano. These work great for reference recordings as they, by their computerized nature, are rhythmically perfect. They are even expressive and played with humanlike playback styles appropriate for each time period. That means even little details like trills, and the pacing of tempo alterations are programmed into the playback in a manner that is stylistically the norm for the musical eras. Listening to these recordings will give you greater understanding of each piece, its tempos, and its style. Even better though, check out my recording, Serenade, for the real thing!” – Mark Alan Wade

Catherine Kostyn –
I love this book! It has such a large variety of pieces from different time periods and for all levels. The arrangements are wonderful and the recordings are very helpful to have. Whatever your level, this isn’t a book that will be outgrown quickly and gives access to a deep range of classical music for the hammered dulcimer that really can’t be matched.
