This delightful trio medley combines two French carols, Patapan and Noël Nouvelet. It opens with rhythmic drumming patterns in the 2nd and 3rd parts, setting the stage before the 2nd part joins the melody in Part 1. The duet in the first two parts is beautifully grounded by I and V chords in the 3rd part. A clever modulatory sequence on ‘Sing we now Noel’ transitions seamlessly from E minor to A minor. The medley concludes with a spirited rendition of Noël Nouvelet, playfully finishing with a charming tag on ‘Sing we now.’
