This Austrian hymn beloved around the world begins with harp-like plucking before returning to soft hammers. The use of thirds alternating with a pedal A4 harken to the sounds of the hackbrett and salterio. Each iteration of the carol grows not only in volume, but intensity as the stillness of the evening of Christ’s birth comes nearer.
A BONUS version is included that is a bit easier with a 16/15 range too!
